FYJC online admission process 2019 starts, apply at pune.11thadmission.net

FYJC Admission 2019 Pune - The admission process to first-year junior colleges (FYJC) in Maharashtra colleges has started. Students can visit the website www.pune.11thadmission.net to apply for admissions in colleges of Pune and Mumbai, Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR) and other colleges of the State.

In the year 2019-20, there are 849 colleges in MMR. The online application process consists of two parts. Part one of the application be filled before the SSC results, part two can only be filled after the announcement of Maharashtra class 10th results 2019. Students can shortlist up to 10 colleges while seeking admission in First year Junior Colleges. The Maharashtra Board results are likely to be released between 26 and 30 May.

Students can also see the official website - https://pune.11thadmission.net to know about last year’s cut-offs of colleges, subjects offers, the address of colleges etc. Students must choose colleges in which they really want admission so that they did not get the one which they don't prefer. A 'withdraw application' option would also be there for students which will help them to apt out of the process at any point.

Students must get information booklets with unique user ID from their respective schools or help centres set up by the department. Only after these user ID and password, a student can log into the admission process and fill the forms for the FYJC.

FYJC Online Admission 2018 19 Mumbai:10,000 FYJC seats added in 2018-19 but none to sought-after colleges

MUMBAI: This year 10,000 more seats are added for the FYJC Online admission for first-year junior college aspirants. Now as the seats have been increased to over 3 lakh, still there would be tough competition at top junior colleges as the new seats are added in mostly lesser known or new colleges. Out of the total seats available, admission to 1.63 lakh seats will be completed via the centralized fyjc online process.

The remaining 1.37 lakh seats reserved under the in-house, management and minority quotas, registrations will be done online, but the seats will be filled at the college level. This year, 14 new colleges have got permissions to start junior colleges. Among these 14, only four are located in Mumbai—two in the western suburbs and two in the central suburbs. A few of them are in Thane, Kalyan and Panvel. Seats have also been added from those junior colleges that have got permissions to start new divisions. The highest increase in number of seats is seen in the commerce stream which is up from 1.6 lakh to 1.65 lakh.
The other streams—arts, science and MCVC—have only increased marginally. Despite the number of seats have increased, still it's not expected to have an impact on cut-offs at sought-after or top colleges.
An education department official said, “The permissions to start new junior colleges have been mostly given to schools to extend to junior colleges or add divisions. No additions are for the popular colleges. The demand continues to be for a select few colleges.”

Despite out of the 2.92 lakh seats last year, more than 55,000 seats remained vacant after several FYJC online admission rounds. Now for the FYJC Admission 2018-19, students can fill up part 1 of their admission forms online using the user ID and password they have got from their schools. Students, need to wait a bit longer for deciding the junior colleges as the education department has not uploaded the previous year’s cut-offs on the admission portal.

Students can fill up their choice of colleges after the declaration of SSC results maharashtra in June. At most of the top colleges, the intake capacity has not increased since many years. Ashok Wadia, principal, Jai Hind, Churchgate said, “We do not intend to increase the number of students we take to maintain standards and provide quality education in the infrastructure we have.”
To help understand the FYJC online process 2018-19, the college organised a workshop for over 600 parents and students.
